Sorry, gave up the site yesterday... Had to do it before I forgot. I was so mad I couldn't see straight. Almost came up without him anyway, but I've never set up the trailer alone and I'm not sure where I'd be driving... GRRR! Maybe next time, though... Get some practice...

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! We had a driver quit this morning, so we will not be able to attend because now my husband has to drive AND find another driver! We hope ya'll have a great time though, and maybe in the future when we go camp on a whim and another prayer we'll meet some of ya'll...

We are still on schedule to camp starting Fri, but not sure about Gary and Teresa and child. They're not sure they'll make it.
With all the new people, how will we know who's who and where to "join in"?

I have heard so much about tubing, I'm definitely interested! If you have any more info on how it works I'd love to hear (read) it! How much does it cost? Is there an age/height limit? Is there a website with more info on it? If my child doesn't want her own tube, can she ride with me? How long does it take? How do you get back to where you started???? .... ... ...

Usually State Parks do not give a discount because they are gonna get the business anyway. I did ask the folks at Unicoi, and they would not offer us any kind of options to assist us in grouping. They only suggested we have one person check in for ALL of us (and all would have to be pre-paid) and then each site needed to appear 'occupied'.
20 days and a wake up...

We will probably only meet ya'll for dinner on Sat and maybe breakfast on Sun so we can get some "sleep in" time! Party? Did someone say party??!! :W :B :C
The last two meets had dinner at 6pm, and breakfast at 9am. Tell us where to be and when & we shall appear.
Postings are probably slowing down for summer rush and will pick back up as the time draws near. I just put some new cups/bowls etc in the camper today. Wish I had some money and a genie to do my work and I'd be camping right now!! :h Of course, the driveway isn't THAT far... I could just... nah, better wait...

I could use some ideas on food to bring... There have been others asking me what they should bring. And I might like to change my offering as well. We are new to camping (as adults) and not sure what's easy to make. We have a few crock pots for use as well, just need ideas to fill 'em!

You can add "Gary and Teresa + 1 child" to the list also. They are not on this board, but are either staying with us at our site or getting their own, but they are coming.
I called the park again and just for confirmation, we will not be able to attempt to "group" ourselves. He said in order to group us, ALL of us that want to be grouped would need to pay in full up front, and whoever we designate would need to check us all in then put the signs on the posts AND make all of the sites look occupied. You can't just put the sign up and leave the site bare. "No saving". Or, we do the impossible and show up all together!! LOL!
He said they will put us in one of two areas at random: "Little Brook and Laurel Ridge". ALL of the seven "double buddy" sites are taken. There are 3 in Little Brook, 4 in Laurel Ridge. He said you will be told at check in which section you are to go to, based on site availability.
As of 5 minutes ago, there were 8-30' sites left, and 3-40' sites left.
We will also bring a table for the group meal use. Don't forget to bring some paper goods as well! I'm thinking we'll bring some potato salad and maybe hotdogs - at least the kids will like them!

I belive the count is at 8 reservations now... Not sure all are confirmed, but looking at the thread, that's how many (7 with one off the internet confirmed to make the 8) have said they like it as our meeting place. Looking good so far! :C
Also, we have two canopies - one 8x8 and one 10x10. We'll need tables and chairs again, extension cords probably...
Looking at the park map, there's no way to tell where the sites are in relation to the double buddy site, but it's a good thought. Same price, possibly more space. Someone has to reserve an extra site soon, though, before it gets snatched up! We can all pitch in to cover the cost once we meet up...
Supposedly we can let them know that we are in a group and they will TRY to put us together. I read something about they assign an "area" but the individual sites are up to your preference once in the "area". Not sure how that works. Anyone want to volunteer to investigate that possiblity for us?:@
I know I'm responding alot, with alot of info at times, I'm not trying to run the show!!!! I'm just eager to get the details pinned down and for that weekend to get here!:W

Same way. First come first served. Canopy sounds good. We should all probably make some sort of "sign" or something to let the other newbies (Like us!) know who our fellow Rally'ers are! Any ideas?

Three votes Unicoi, one confirmed reservation, one pending... I guess that's where were going! All in favor? Space is limited, so make your reservations!!
What about the extra space that we all chip in for once we get there? Does anyone want to pay up front for it? Or should we just see what happens, reserve a picnic site, or figure out where to meet once we get there?
